The greatest culinary event of the year (sorry, Taste of Chicago) is the Green City Market Chefs BBQ. Filled with local food and amazing chefs, this event always has great energy, good feelings and full bellies. But the best part is during the lead-up to the event, when those same chefs participate in the high stakes Green City Market Chef BBQ Auction.

Chefs give generously to this auction, which features experiences you can't get anywhere else. They aren't cheap, of course—right now, the cheapest entry on the list is about $500—but how else can you get chefs like Chris Pandel (Swift & Sons), Jason Vincent (Lula) or Eric Mansavage (Farmhouse) to come to your home and cook for your friends?

One of the most fun items on the list is a "Goat Hop," which includes drinks and bites at Girl & the Goat, Duck Duck Goat and Little Goat Diner for two people, all in one epic night. If you're not in a food coma after that, you're doing it wrong. You can bring a crazy 6-course wine dinner featuring Chef Michael Kornick (MK) and Shaun King (The Dawson) to your home, or you can impress your meat-loving friends with a "Steakhouse Showdown" featuring chefs from Swift & Sons and Maple & Ash who will grill up so much meat that you won't be able to stand it.

Check out the whole list here, and good luck on the bidding. Oh, and buy tickets for the BBQ, which takes place on July 21.
