The badly burned kitten an Edgewater animal shelter has been treating with help from public donations since last Wednesday is "still alive and fighting, but in critical condition," according to an updated report. For updated details and video, click here.

The kitten has been in Felines & Canine's care since last week after some human monster set him on fire. According to a Thursday post on Felines & Canines Facebook page, the poor kitty came in with extensive injuries (and there are awful photos to prove it) last Wednesday night and his medical expenses will be costly.

From the post:

"The tissue on his front legs is so badly damaged that both may need to be removed, and the burns to his underbelly and genitals are so severe that gender can not accurately be determined (although we're calling him a boy for now). He will remain sedated and on pain medications with 24 hour care until he is strong enough to start the recovery process."

The shelter is still asking for donations to help with the kitten's care as they're facing a spring and summer lull in funding while the number of animals they're taking in is at a high. We've reached out to Felines & Canines for additional information and will update this story as we get it.
