Wrigley's New Deep Dish Pizza And Chicago Hot Dog Combo Doesn't Look Great

That looks...interesting. Photo via Twitter.

Sometimes, hybrid foods are delicious and take the nation by storm. See: Cronuts. But sometimes, a hybrid makes you scratch your head with puzzlement and swallow a little bit with disgust. That's how we felt when we saw this combo deep dish pizza/chicago hot dog that apparently is coming to Wrigley starting Friday.

Darren Rovell, a reporter for ESPN, tweeted out a photo of this mutant, which is the result of a collaboration between Giordanos and Vienna Beef.

We could try to come up with a witty way to describe how blech this looks (something like an upside down bread hat filled with hot giardinera and laced with pickles; the ultimate bad breath machine), but Mark Hinog at SBNation did a better job than we ever could.

It looks like the aftermath of a Giordano’s delivery person running into a Vienna Beef hot dog cart, and the condiments of the cart landed on the pizza, and the person panicked because they were so close to their destination, and they didn’t feel like going back and getting a new pizza that was paid from their own pockets as an apology, so they said "fuck it" and gave the hot dog pizza mess to the customer, and that person was also like "fuck it" and ate the pizza anyway, and then the customer contacted both Vienna Beef and Giordano’s and said, "Hey, your employees had an accident with my pizza, but I kinda liked it, so why don’t you both team up and appease me?"

Yeah. That. As one of our editors put it, "I know i shouldn't want that for a variety of reasons but it looks so revolting I can't *not* want it."

It's on sale from July 15 to 20.
