Almost exactly a year ago, Wilco fans in Chicago got a double treat when Jeff Tweedy and his bandmates surprised them by dropping Star Wars, the group's ninth studio album, just days before taking the Pitchfork stage. This year, Pitchfork went on without them, but Wilco isn't leaving its fans empty-handed: the band announced Schmilco, its 10th studio album, via social media Tuesday morning.

The album is available for pre-order on iTunes now, and comes out via dBpm Sept. 9. Earlier this week, fans got a little preview (though they didn't know it at the time), when the group dropped "Locator," a song to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Star Wars release. As it turns out, the track is one of 12 (others include songs with names like "Cry All Day," "Shrug and Destroy" and, to keep things interesting, "Happiness") that will be featured on Schmilco. Another new song, "If I Ever Was a Child" has also been released.
