A Chicago Trump delegate lost her Republican convention credentials after Illinois GOP officials discovered she had made a racist Facebook post under an alias.

Lori Gayne, an elected delegate from Chicago's 5th District, made the post in question from the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this week. Her post consisted of a photo of law enforcement officials and the caption, "Our brave snipers just waiting for some “N—- to try something. Love them."

"The Illinois Republican Party has zero tolerance for racism of any kind and threats of violence against anyone," Illinois GOP Chairman Tim Schneider said in a statement about the matter. He added that "threats of violence have absolutely no place in the Illinois Republican Party or in a civil and inclusive society."

Gayne apologized for the post in a statement to the Sun-Times. "While I in no way intended to make racist or threatening statements, I now realize that they could be interpreted that way," she said, extremely implausibly.

Gayne routinely posted on social media under handles that weren't her legal name, including "whitepride," the Tribune reported back in May.
