Video Shows Frightening AF 'Creeper Ghost' Breaking Into Bucktown Home

In case just imagining a hooded intruder lurking around your home while you're asleep on the couch isn't terrifying enough, one Bucktown resident actually unknowingly captured that nightmare scenario on video early Monday morning.

In home security system footage published by NBC Tuesday, the intruder can be seen creeping around on the stairs behind the couple who had fallen asleep in front of the TV. The couple didn't know anything was amiss until they noticed a purse was missing and watched the security footage to retrace their steps. According to the resident, the thief didn't even wake the family dogs.

The break-in is apparently the latest in a string of home invasions in the Bucktown neighborhood. The resident who spoke to NBC News said he and his girlfriend have spotted several social media posts of other robberies in the area being committed by someone matching the description of the intruder on their video. Police confirmed there have been reports of other burglaries in the neighborhood recently.

Good luck sleeping tonight, everyone.
