The Thursday crowd at Lollapalooza 2016 (Annie Lesser/Chicagoist)
This year, Chicagoist Senior Editor Jim Kopeny who is covering Lollapalooza for us reports less weed on the grounds (so far) than he saw at Pitchfork. "Drinking seems to be the big thing," he said, adding that he hadn't encountered a single weed dealer at the fest thus far. Alarmed by mediocrity in any local institution, including the Lolla weed scene, we took its temperature on Twitter. It seems like... it's doing okay? Here's a sampling of the Twitter takes on the matter.
The weed scene is youthful.

The sheer quantity of weed is unprecendented, in the opinion of one person.
I've never seen/smelt so much weed in my life 😂😂 #lolla
