Watch 60,000 Yellow Rubber Ducks Get Dumped Into The Chicago River

By Stephen Gossett in News on Aug 4, 2016 8:03PM

Each year, Special Olympics Illinois makes quite a splash (literally) when organizers dump thousands of plastic toy rubber ducks into the Chicago River for the Windy City Rubber Ducky Derby. It's a great event: attendees adopt one or more ducks for the "race" with proceeds benefiting SOI. (Ducks run $5 a head, with bulk discounts available.) But if you weren't able to catch it live, the documentation from this afternoon will still probably be the most oddly enthralling sight you'll see all day. Check out some choice cuts and head over to WBEZ for more coverage.
