Photos: March Follows MLK's Historic Path Through Chicago On 50th Anniversary

Fifty years since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., brought his message of racial justice and equality to Chicago, over a hundred activists and community members gathered in Chicago Lawn to both celebrate his legacy and decry recent police shootings of people of color.

The march came on the heels of Friday's unveiling of a memorial to King in nearby Marquette Park.

Our photographer joined the marchers to capture the occasion, which included speeches by people who marched with King 50 years ago, and young local activists who have organized the city's Black Lives Matter movement. King visited Chicago many times and even lived in North Lawndale for a few months in 1966.
