Watch Broom-Wielding Grocers Foil A Logan Square Robbery

Don't mess with the staff at Fresh Market Place grocery store in Logan Square. That's the lesson two wannabe robbers learned the hard way Sunday night when their attempt to rip off the Western Avenue grocery store went pretty poorly, to say the least. Security cameras caught footage of the men entering the store around closing time, pulling guns and demanding cash from a clerk.
But another employee wasn't having it. He can be seen in the video charging the intruders and chasing them out of the store and into the parking lot. Other employees followed, and when the grocers realized the guns the robbers had been brandishing weren't real, ABC7 reports, they tackled one of the perpetrators and held him until police arrived. The other would-be robber got away.
According to several news reports, this is the second time in just a few weeks that robbers have attempted to hit the store. When two men tried to stick up the place in July, a manager was able to chase them away, too.
