There's A Flash Flood Warning For Chicago As Evening Thunderstorms Loom

Chicago already experienced torrential downpours on Friday morning and early afternoon. But it looks like we're still far from in the clear. There is a flash flood watch in effect throughout late evening, according to the National Weather Service of Chicago.
The alert warns of potential for flooded roads and "fast-moving water." A forecast this morning noted the possibility of two-inch-per-hour rainfall rates.
Weather.com also has a flash flood watch in effect, until midnight. According to the site's forecast as of mid-afternoon, the worst could hit in the late evening: the hourly report shows a 95 percent chance of thunderstorms from 7 p.m. through 9 p.m.
Adding insult, the rain likely will do little to quell the heat thanks to elevated humidity levels.
Stay dry and stay safe.
