Chance the Rapper dropped by Good Morning America on Monday morning to perform and chat with host Robin Roberts. Chance was joined by Peter Cottontale and Francis and the Lights for a performance of “Summer Friends” from, as host Robin Roberts put it, his “hot new mixtape” Coloring Book. (True spit, Robin.)
Chance also interviewed with Roberts for the segment. He talked about paying tribute to Muhammad Ali and his own relationship with religion. ("People are afraid to speak about God to a certain extent, and I think if you're not free to speak about God, then you're not free.") He also revealed that he attended President Barack Obama’s 55th birthday party. (Obama included Chance’s “Acid Rain” on the president’s recently revealed summer playlists. Chance says it was the best mix he’s been on. Buddies!)
