ALBANY PARK WORLD FEST: More than 70 languages spoken in the Albany Park community, and that diversity is represented in their restaurants, retailers and artists. The 3rd annual Albany Park World Fest brings them all together for one eclectic street fest that includes a sampling of world music and a carnival. Admission is a $5 donation benefiting Albany Park Neighbors.
AIR AND WATER SHOW: The 58th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show hits the skies and the water at North Avenue Beach this weekend, though you'll be able to see (and hear!) the planes all over town. It’s a Thunderbirds year, with the Air Force’s finest show off jaw dropping aerial moves as the main event both days. The U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights, U.S. Navy Leap Frogs, and the F-35 Heritage Flight are also performing. Check out viewing parties high above sea level at John Hancock’s Signature Room, Green River, Willis Tower J. Parker and elsewhere. Free.

WILCO SCHMILCO: It's been quite a while since Wilco last played their hometown, so Sunday will be your chance to see Jeff Tweedy and company (and Pat Sansone's amazing halo of hair) in Millennium Park at the Pritzker Pavilion. The band's new album Wilco Schmilco (out Sept. 9) is a very mellow affair, but onstage the band is a powerhouse. Local garage poppers Twin Peaks opens. Tickets range from $30 to $85.
