Bucktown Man Didn't Realize He'd Been Shot Until He Took A Shower

Well, we've never heard this one before. A 25-year-old man called 911 early on Sunday morning after he realized while taking a shower that he had been shot in the chest, police told Chicagoist.

The victim called at around 4:30 a.m. from the 2200 block of West Fullerton Avenue. The man told police that he had been out drinking earlier in the night. He said he lost consciousness then awoke near North Hoyne Avenue and West Charleston Street He then made his way home where he took a shower and realized he had been shot, police said.

The man was taken by Chicago Fire Department responders to Illinois Masonic Medical Center and listed in good condition, according to police.

Detectives are currently investigating the shooting.
