Police Warn About Teens Attacking, Robbing Victims Near Blue Line

A series of five robberies has authorities warning people who live on the West Side near CTA stops. Chicago police issued an alert, noting five robberies that occurred this month and last along the L, by the Kedzie-Homan stop.
The police listed the location of the robberies, saying, "In these incidents, the victim was approached by offenders, who struck him and took personal property. In another incident, the victims were on the train when offenders approached and took their persona property."
• 600 block of South Homan Avenue on August 22, 2016 at 12:45 pm.The four suspects are described as male teens: a 13 - 15-year-old, 5'4" and 125 pounds; a 15 - 16-year-old, 5'8" and 150 pounds with dreadlocks; a 14 - 18-year-old, 5'-5'5" with a fade hairstyle; and a 10 - 13-year-old, 5'1"-5'3" with braids.

• 532 S. Homan Avenue on September 1, 2016 at 1:40 p.m.
• 555 S. Pulaski Road on September 3, 2016 at 4:54 p.m.
The CPD asked that anyone with information call the Bureau of Detectives - Area North at (312) 744-8263 and offered these safety suggestions:
• Always be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (ie., scars, limp, acne, teeth)
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
