Man Attempted To Lure 13-Year-Old Girl Riding Bike In Jefferson Park

Chicago police are searching for an unknown male suspect accused of attempting to lure a 13-year-old girl in Jefferson Park early on Wednesday evening.

The victim was riding her bike along the 5200 block of N Northwest Hwy. when she observed a man—who police say is between 40 and 50 years-old—standing outside a white, parked work van. The suspect instructed the girl to "come here." The girl refused and alerted an off-duty officer of the incident, who then called 911.

The offender was further described as approximately 5'5", white, with a medium brown complexion. He wore a green baseball cap, sunglasses, and black pants, police said.
