A man was fatally struck by a CTA Red Line train early Monday morning, police told Chicagoist.
The man was struck by the train on the CTA tracks near 71st Street in Park Manor at about 4 a.m. pronounced dead at the scene, and it is unclear right now why he was on the tracks. The CTA temporarily suspended trains between the 63rd Street and 79th Street Red Line stations, but they are back up and running now according to the CTA's Twitter. Commuters may see some residual delays on the Red Line this morning:
Red Line continues to operate w/delays as crews work get service back to normal after earlier disruption. Allow extra travel time.
