October 1 and 2
Lynfred Winery Oktoberfest and Pig Roast

Ever want to stomp grapes for wine? Here's your chance at Lynfred Winery in Roselle. This annual event is over 20 years old for good reason. It offers two days of German music, grape stomping and roasted pig and a full range of activities for both adults and kids! Gemütlichkeit!

This charity event benefiting The Lynn Sage Foundation, a breast cancer research initiative, features an all-star lineup of Chicago's top sommeliers (all of whom happen to be women), who will pair wines with each course of this five course menu. The somms include Rachael Lowe (Spiaggia), Liz Martinez (The Purple Pig), Sian Ferguson (Alinea), Liz Mendez (Vera) and Rachel Driver Speckan (City Winery).

Fontanafredda Barolo and White Truffle DInner

This one's real splurge. Enjoy wines from a variety of vintages produced by Fontanafredda, one of this classic region's most historic producers along with this four course menu. Each course will star white truffles from Piemonte.

Check out this all out wine war fought on three fronts. Chicago, New York and Dallas. The top female Somms from each location will pair wines for each of the four courses held in each city. Guests won't know which wine was selected by which somm. You, along with a panel of wine experts (possibly including a certain wine writer you read) will be the judge and select which wine wins each course.
