A fire tore through a building on a busy stretch of Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square on Friday morning, causing extensive damage but resulting in no injuries, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The fire broke out this morning at 2327 N. Milwaukee Ave. in the two-story building that houses second-hand resale shop Threads Etc. on the street level. The fire had been extinguished by 9:30 a.m., according to CFD.

The building is located between two popular restaurant/bars, The Chicago Diner and Revolution Brewing. Gabriel Boden, Brewpub General Manager at Revolution, told Chicagoist that their facility was not damaged by the neighboring fire and plans on opening around noon, although the heavy smoke from next door triggered Revolution's alarm in the morning. Chicagoist could not immediately reach The Chicago Diner for comment, but Boden told us that business did not sustain damage either.
The stretch of Milwaukee Avenue in front of the fire was closed this morning as crews worked, and CTA riders said that Blue Line trains were running express past the California station on Friday morning.
Video posted by longtime Chicago blogger Steve Rhodes shows billows of smoke pouring from the upper floor after firefighters knocked out windows.
Footage posted Tracy Kostenbader, co-founder of AnySquared, shows crews working the scene and what appears to be extensive damage to Threads.
