Logan Square Shops Are Getting Robbed At Gunpoint, Police Warn

Police are warning about a rash of Logan Square convenience store holdups over the past month, according to a recent community alert.
Someone has been robbing small grocers and convenience stores around Logan Square and West town at gunpoint, police say, in which a man enters the stores, demands cash from the safes inside the stores, and takes money and liquor before fleeing on foot. In one case, the man fired several shots but did not strike anyone. The robberies all took place in the 14th police district at the following times and addresses:
At 2222 N. Western Ave., Friday, Aug. 26 at 3:56 p.m.; 1900 N. California Ave., Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 5:00 p.m.; at 2501 W. North Ave. on Tuesday Sept. 20 at 8:35 p.m.; at 3048 W. Fullerton Ave. on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9:30 p.m.
The robber was described as a black man aged 20-30 years old and between 5'6" and 5'10" tall and weighing 150-175 lbs, wearing a white or blue T0shirt, blue jeans, a black mask and gym shoes.
