A Man Was Struck By The CTA Blue Line Early Thursday In Wicker Park

A 38-year-old man was struck by Blue Line train near the Division Street CTA station in the early hours Thursday morning.
The train struck him at about 2:21 a.m., police told Chicagoist, and he was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Police said a witness reported seeing the man jump onto tracks in front of oncoming trains, and police believe it was an attempted suicide.
The CTA halted Blue Line service on both the North and Southbound tracks due to the collision, but resumed service by 4 a.m., according to CTA reps.
Blue Line trains are standing at Division due to a medical emergency on the tracks; crews working to restore service.
