A 26-year-old man was found shot in the Loop on Wednesday night in what detectives are investigating as a possible suicide, police told Chicagoist.
The victim was discovered at around 7:30 p.m. in 300 block of South Franklin Street—roughly a block south of Willis Tower—lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to a police spokesman. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to the Tribune, the man fell from the 13th floor of a parking garage after being shot.
As of Thursday morning, police had not officially ruled the death a suicide but "were looking into that possibility" as the investigation continues.
