Very Non-Vegan Sandwich Created To Troll Riot Fest's Meat-Banning Morrissey

If any resentful carnivores are still reeling from the demand made by indie icon and vocal vegan Morrissey to temporary meat ban at Riot Fest a few weeks back, they’ll have the opportunity to take delicious revenge this weekend.

The folks behind Puffs of Doom and Doom Street Eats will debut the decidedly non-vegan Pork Morrissey grilled cheese sandwich on Saturday and Sunday, at the Logan Square Food Truck Social.

According to co-founder Rebecca VanderKloot, the tasty troll job “consists of a layer of our decadently creamy, cheesy bacon ranch mac and cheese topped with a layer of our smoky and tangy bourbon BBQ pulled pork.” You probably could have guessed there would be meat, huh?

Banning meat at gigs has been Morrissey's wont in the past, but the embargo at Riot Fest—which only spanned the length of his (quite good) set—nevertheless caused a minor sensation here, considering the festival setting and Chicago's demonstrated meaty proclivities.
