A Group Of Teens Is Attacking & Robbing Women In The Loop, Police Warn

A group of teens is targeting women walking alone at night in the Loop, near Millennium Park, police said in an alert.

In at least three incidents, a female offender was struck a victim in the head, then between four and seven more attackers jumped in, hitting and throwing kicks, before fleeing. In each case, the victim was a lone woman walking in public in the evening. The muggers have stolen cell phones, backpacks and tablets from victims, according to police.

The incidents occurred at the following dates, times and locations:
100 block of Nort Michigan Avenue, on October 16 at 9:00 p.m.
200 block of East Randolph Street, on October 16 at 9:12 p.m.
0-100 block of East Van Buren Street, on October 19 at 10:00 p.m.

The group of assailants is between five and eight male and female teens, according to police.

Police advise to be aware of your surroundings, report suspicious activity, remain calm if confronted, take note of unique physical traits and call 911 in case of emergency.
