Ex-Congressman Joe Walsh Says He's 'Grabbing My Musket' If Trump Loses

Eighth District Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Illinois)
Donald Trump supporter and former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh Tweeted Wednesday night that he would be "grabbing my musket" if Donald Trump loses the presidential race next month. Maybe he thought the comment was more patriotic than violent and upsetting, because he made little attempt to roll it back once the Tweet started gaining traction:
On November 8th, I'm voting for Trump.— Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) October 26, 2016
On November 9th, if Trump loses, I'm grabbing my musket.
You see, a musket is an old-timey rifle—it's not like it's a gun you could actually hurt someone with, right?—so Walsh has his bases covered:
“I’m not talking about inciting violence. I’m saying, ‘If Trump loses, man, game on, grab your musket. We’re going to protest. We’re going to boycott. We’re going to picket. We’re going to march on Washington. We’re going to stop paying taxes. We’re going to practice civil disobedience.’ Whatever it takes,” Walsh told Yahoo News, by way of clarification. “What the heck! A musket! For the life of me, it’s like the left has no sense of humor. I mean, a musket, what damage could a musket do? What if I had said grab your slingshot?”
Walsh served in the U.S. House of Representatives for the 8th district of Illinois from 2011 to 2013, but now he's a talk radio host. This is not the first time he's said something unbelievably misguided on Twitter: In July, he said that President Barack Obama and the Black Lives Matter movement should "watch out" for "real America" because "this is now war."
But not like, a war you'd fight with muskets and rifles, of course, just a metaphorical war.
Either way, Twitter was not amused:
I do not believe that Joe Walsh:— Ben Dreyfuss (@bendreyfuss) October 26, 2016
1) knows how to load a musket
2) knows how to fire a musket
3) owns a musket

I've had the FBI show up at my home to question me about things I've said online. But Joe Walsh REPEATEDLY makes threats & nothing happens pic.twitter.com/Xhn3mAmZYH— Tariq Nasheed (@tariqnasheed) October 26, 2016
Joe Walsh's congressional career, like a musket, was done after one shot. https://t.co/ZncSfJou4V— Nick Jack Pappas (@Pappiness) October 26, 2016
