Free public service announcement: please don’t drive your car on The 606. We know the elevated path is a beautiful transportation amenity, but it is truly for pedestrians and cyclists only, confused motorist.

Maybe it was revenge for the time that Divvy cyclist rode down the Dan Ryan Expressway, or up Lake Shore Drive?

The vehicle “doesn’t appear to be a police car” either, Officer Bari Lemmon, police spokesperson, told Chicagoist. There were no calls of service for a car spotted on the pathway on Wednesday, according to Lemmon. It was the kind of incident that “should garner a lot of calls,” she said.

The driver could potentially be cited for driving on park property, Lemmon added.

Jessica Maxey-Faulkner, Director of Communications for the Chicago Park District, told Chicagoist that the incident has since been reported to the police. The 606 infrastructure has to accommodate vehicular access because it “is necessary for emergency and service vehicles,” Maxey-Faulkner added.
