Man Shot In The Face On Lake Shore Drive Near Downtown

A man was critically injured by a gunshot wound to the face early Friday morning on Lake Shore Drive, near Grant Park, according to police.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 100 block of North Lake Shore Drive at 1:26 a.m. on Friday morning. They found a 41-year-old man who had been shot in the driver’s seat of a white conversion van, in the northbound lanes, Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman, told Chicagoist.
The victim was taken to Northwestern Hospital and listed in critical condition.
Detectives are investigating, and no one was in custody as of Friday morning.
In other shootings, a person was shot around the same time, at 1:35 a.m., on the Eisenhower Expressway, near Kostner; and three people were hit in a drive-by shooting in Logan Square on Thursday night, at approximately 9:30 p.m. At least 11 people total were shot in Chicago between Thursday night and Friday morning, the Tribune reports.
