A momentous Election Day is right around the corner. You know it, we know it and Chance the Rapper damn sure knows it, too.
Chicago's favorite hip-hop son announced on Friday that he'll be performing a free concert outside the entrance of Virgin Hotels Chicago (203 North Wabash Avenue) downtown on Monday as a reminder to get your ass to the polls—if you haven't already.
The concert (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.) is also scheduled to feature Twin Peaks, Malcolm London, Taylor Bennett (Chance's also social-activism-minded brother) and more. A "parade to the polls" is also slated.
"This election is very important, a chance for new leaders and new opportunities to emerge," Chance said in a press release. "SocialWorks and I are proud to partner with Virgin Hotels Chicago, Boost Your Voice and The TurboVote Challenge to give everyone a voice in the democratic process and encourage people to vote, both locally and nationally.”
Take a peek at our guide to this year's ballot. There's a lot going on beyond the prez.
I'm throwing a block party/concert/rally/Parade on top of @virginhotelschi all on Monday. Suprise Guest. 18+ #StayWokeAndVote pic.twitter.com/O60IDygA69
