Photos: Chicago Kicks Off Holiday Season With Christmas Tree Lighting

Chicago has officially kicked off the holiday season with the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree in Millennium Park. Between that and the return of the beloved/reviled CTA holiday train, Christkindlmarket and the Millennium Park ice rink, Chicago is in full-on holiday mode. We might even be getting snow this weekend (though so far, the weather seems cold but unlikely to turn snowy).

Our photographer Tyler LaRiviere brought us scenes from Friday night's tree-lighting ceremony, which drew spectators to Millennium Park and around the Loop for other Christmas festivities. You can watch the city's 103rd tree-lighting, and ensuing fireworks, below:
