Well, this one gives new meaning to arrival times, amirite, amirite?!

A mother gave birth to a baby girl on early Monday morning at a CTA Blue Line station downtown, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Congratulations... but also, wow.

The woman, 26, delivered the baby herself—as if the less-than-ideal environment didn’t make things difficult enough—on the LaSalle Blue Line platform at about 2 a.m.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re huge public-transit advocates, but this seems like one of the worst ways a mother could have to deliver a child in the city. At least, the mother and her newborn daughter were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.
