Cubs co-owner and member of the conservative and politically-influential billionaire Ricketts family Todd Ricketts is being considered for a spot in Donald Trump's presidential cabinet, according to Politico.
Ricketts, 47, had a meeting with Trump last week, among the President-Elect's many scheduled meetings with local and foreign political figures over the past week. A source told Politico that Ricketts, son of billionaire businessman Joe Ricketts, could become the Deputy Secretary of Commerce. Trump is expected to pick Wilbur Ross, a billionaire investor, as the Secretary of Commerce.
During the presidential election, the Ricketts family initially funded a Super PAC with the hopes of keeping Trump out of the White House—a move that led Trump to call the family out on Twitter and warn that they had "better watch out." But once it was clear that Trump would be the Republican nomination, the Ricketts did an about-face and began funding his campaign.
