Police Warn Of Robberies At North Side Grocers, Drug Stores

Police are warning businesses after a rash of robberies of grocery stores and drugstores over the weekend. The suspect was armed and demanded money from the register in each altercation, according to police.

Most of the incidents occurred in the early morning. Locations, date and times were:
- 6100 block of N. Broadway St. on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 4:19 a.m. and 7:40 p.m.
- 3200 block of N. Broadway St. on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 1:28 a.m.
- 3400 block of N. Western Ave. on Sunday, Nov. 27 1:50 a.m.

Police believe the man responsible is between the ages of 25 and 45, height ranging between 5'08" and 5'11", blue eyes and brown hair and weighing between 180 and 230 pounds.

He was spotted wearing “a tan Carhartt-style jacket” along with a black hoodie and cargo pants, according to police.

Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s), including any
vehicle description and license plate information, as well as direction of flight, if known. Police ask anyone with information to contact detectives at (312) 744-8263.
