Hopefully you don't need an excuse to turn gingerbread, frosting and gumdrops into elaborate model replicas of Chicago's iconic architectural landmarks. But in case you do, here's one from the Willis Tower.

The Tower is hosting a gingerbread house architecture contest this month, in which people are invited to build gingerbread versions of Chicago landmarks such as the Willis Tower. Participants can submit photos of their creations for judging by posting them on social media with the hashtag #WillisTowerTreats until Dec. 16. After that time, Willis Tower officials will select semifinalists for display at the Skydeck (233 S. Wacker Dr.).

Semi-finalists who bring their gingerbread houses to the tower on Dec. 19 for the next stage of the competition will also get a free Skydeck pass, according to organizers. Visitors who check out the Skydeck the week of the 19th will vote for their favorite gingerbread structure via a ballot box, and the grand prize winner will receive a special dinner-for-four package.

A press release explains the vertigo-inducing prize:

Pie in the Sky is a once in a lifetime experience that features a three course meal catered by Giordano’s Pizza served by The Ledge 1,353 feet/103 floors up with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. The package retails at $100 per person.

We nominate the 400 lb Gingerbread Wrigley Field.
