After just over seven years in business, Logan Square's Belly Shack is closing up shop on Christmas Eve.

Owners of the Western Avenue fusion sandwich shop, located just under the Western Blue Line tracks, released a statement Monday evening saying that: "After more than seven years at 1912 N. Western Ave., Belly Shack will have its last day of service on December 24th. Chef/partner Bill Kim and the team at Cornerstone Restaurants are grateful to have served the Logan Square community."

Kim operates two other fusion restaurants, called Urbanbelly, in the West Loop (1400 W. Randolph St.) and Wicker Park (1542 N. Damen Ave.) They are remaining open and, according to the Tribune's dining critic, will take on some of Belly Shack's most popular menu items.
