After commanding hours-deep lines for the opening of its first Midwest location in Skokie this summer, popular Filipino spot Jollibee is now open on Chicago's Far Northwest Side.

The popular chain opens its latest location today inside Mayfair's Seafood City (5033 N. Elston Ave.,) a massive Filipino grocery store that opened in September with seafood-focused prepared food and market offerings.

Jollibee drew major crowds to the opening of its Skokie location this summer, with its signature offerings, including "Chickenjoy" fried chicken and spaghetti. The Tribune notes that the new restaurant currently lacks a phone. Jollibee has 34 locations around the U.S., and its mascot is, perplexingly, a dapper, anthropomorphized bee.
