After a somewhat rocky debut, Chicago's long-overdue answer to the New Year's Eve blowout sweepstakes, Chi-Town Rising, is back this weekend for a sophomore session.

While leaving behind the event's previous bait-and-switch pricing debacle, the spectacle will again welcome some slightly curious headliners—including MOR indie (Saint Motel) and broad-appeal hip-hop (Sir the Baptist). There will, of course, also be the big ball drop and free designated "viewing zones." And it wouldn't be a celebration without a mess of confusing traffic closures, too. Revelers and those in their path, take heed.

The following streets are closed from Friday through Saturday night, according to NBC, the first two being the most major:

- East Upper Wacker Drive—including sidewalks—between Michigan Avenue and North Columbus Drive (There will be access to the garage at 111 East Upper Wacker)

- North Stetson Avenue between East Upper Wacker Drive and East South Water Street

- City Front Plaza Drive between East North Water Street and East Illinois Street

- East North Water Street between City Front Plaza and North Columbus Drive

- Some lane closures on mid-level Wacker Drive between North Columbus Drive and
North Stetson Avenue

- Pioneer Court

The following added closures take effect between 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday:

- Lower North Stetson Avenue between East Lower Wacker and East Lower South Water Street

- All lanes of mid-level Wacker Drive between Michigan Avenue and Columbus

If you do plan on attending, check out the map below, which includes the two free public viewing spots, on either side of the river. There's also a 5K race on Saturday morning ($55 registration) that starts at 9 a.m. The route is included below.
