After shuttering earlier this year, Uptown's divey but beloved, old-school bar Carol's Pub is now on the real estate market, for the low, low price of $249,000.

Carol's had been offering patrons live country music (courtesy of the talented house band, Diamondback), karaoke and snacks for 40-some years, even as the surrounding neighborhood changed and modernized around the bar, named for co-owner Carol Harris. Harris announced the bar was at least temporarily shuttering in September, and Eater reports that it had lost its liquor license this year.

Now the 3,000 square-foot real estate listing at 4659 N. Clark St. is up for sale, as TimeOut Chicago noticed Thursday. At under $250K for the vast commercial property, you could own an institution steeped in Chicago history and keep the city's dive bar dreams alive.
