Police are warning about a series of pickpocketing reports in the Loop this week.

In each pickpocketing incident, police say thieves bumped into people on the street in the afternoon and evening hours and took property from them.
The incidents were reported in the following locations:
• 200 block of South Michigan Avenue on Dec. 31 at 2:00 p.m.
• 200 block of South State Street on Jan. 3 at 2:00 p.m.
• 300 block of South State Street on Jan. 4 at 7:10 p.m.

The thieves were described as black men, around 5'5", and bald. Police recommend that people be aware of their surroundings, report suspicious activity immediately by calling 911, and remember any physical characteristics of a pickpocketer. They also say to remain calm if confronted by an assailant, and to never pursue a fleeing assailant.
