Spring is here! JK, but seriously, at least this week is looking like it's going to be a warm one, once Monday's freezing rain clears.

The National Weather Service has a winter weather advisory in affect through noon today for the Chicago area due to the possibility of freezing rain and slick, wintry roads. But after predicting that freezing rain would make commutes a little dicier early Monday morning, the NWS is forecasting warmer days ahead for the Chicago area, which is just what we want to hear in mid-January.

After a high of 39 Monday, the NWS is predicting highs in the 40s Tuesday through Friday, with the high hitting 48 degrees on Thursday and Friday. But don't expect the chilly rain to clear before Wednesday, according to the NWS.

And if you aren't wrapping up a three-day weekend today, (or you're just already looking forward to the weekend) here's one more reason to look forward: the temperature will dip back into the 30s on Saturday, but it will be back up to 48 on Sunday for another unseasonably warm day, the NWS says. So we're not telling you to put away your winter parka, but we're also not telling you not to go skipping through the streets in shorts and sandals, either.
