The protests that convened on Trump Tower and spread through downtown on Friday night had plenty of dramatic moments and some tense scuffles, but there were some brilliant moments of levity, too. Our favorite: a brass band performing "The Imperial March" from Star Wars, better known as Darth Vader's Theme, near a police barricade across the river from Trump Tower. Take it away, fellas.

The band set up early in the protest, arriving at about 5 p.m. Trombonist Andrew Rozsa, a recent transplant to Chicago from Montreal, said the players were almost entirely professional musicians, all of whom wanted to contribute in their decidedly quirky way. The band, which sported signs that read "Sousaphones Against Hate, Baritones Resisting Aggression," also performed, among other cuts, the theme from Curb Your Enthusiasm and, in the clip below, a dirge.
It felt appropriate.
