The sun is out! And while that's not normally something we'd pay much attention to, Chicago's skies have been overcast for the past eight days, according to WGN.

WGN spoke to Frank Wachowski, the city's resident weather measurer, who calculated that the city hasn't gone this long without sun in over 25 years—specifically, to Dec. 29, 1991, when the city was cloudy until Jan. 9, 1992. Before then, the record was 10 days of no sun in December of 1895. No wonder we've been feeling so down these days. (Actually, scratch that, we know exactly why.)

WGN also reports that this January has been the 2nd-cloudiest on record, behind Jan. 1998.

You can expect temperatures in the 20s and 30s this week despite the sun. And after you've soaked up the rays on the few square inches of your body that aren't covered in layers, might we suggest taking a look at our guide to finding hygge, a.k.a. coziness, through the winter in Chicago?
