A Gresham man has been accused of shooting two people outside a Gold Coast bar early Saturday morning, including an off-duty first responder.

Clifton Banks, 36, of the 8700 block of South Emerald Avenue, was charged with two felony counts of first degree attempted murder after he was identified as the man who shot a 39-year-old man, who happened to be an off-duty sheriff's deputy, in the head and a 30-year-old man in the leg in the 1200 block of North State Street on Jan. 28 around 3:27 a.m. Both shooting victims were taken to Northwestern Sinai Hospital in stable condition, according to authorities.

Police who responded to the scene of the shooting Saturday morning found Banks and arrested him. The off-duty deputy had served with the Cook County Sheriff's Department for 11 years, according to ABC7, and he received a graze wound to the head in the shooting.
