By Anthony Todd in Food on Feb 2, 2017 6:34PM

It's almost Valentine's Day, and if you don't have reservations yet, don't worry: we've got your back. Here are some great Valentine's Day specials to help you ensure that your night is as romantic, and delicious, as possible. And if you need more inspiration, here's our companion list of where you can still get a reservation for dinner on the special day this year.

Cocktails At The Violet Hour

Tired of filet mignon, oysters and chocolate? Skip straight to the booze. Violet Hour is hosting a ticketed Valentine's Day night of cocktails, including two and a half hours of drinking, an interactive component where guests create their own champagne cocktail, a sweet treat and fancy stationary to send love notes to your sweetie (or the person you just eyed across the bar). The whole thing is $75 per person.

Beer and Cake Pairing at Moody Tongue

We've ranted before about how it's best to do Valentine's Day on another day (stay home and cook for your sweetie on Feb. 14), which is why this option, from Moody Tongue Brewery, is so awesome. On Feb. 12, join brewmaster Jared Rouben and Pastry Chef Shannon Morrison for a guided experience on how to pair beer with dessert, which just happens to involve a ton of drinking beer and eating cake. You'll walk through each layer of a decadent cake, pairing a different drink with each layer. This is probably going to get you a bit sloshed, but hey—it's not actually Valentine's Day! Tickets are $50.

Valentine's Day at Big Jones

Big Jones is running its awesome (and recommended by us!) Restaurant Week menu through Valentine's Day. Which means you get an amazing four-course menu by Paul Fehribach for just $33 a person, which is probably the best deal you're ever going to get on Valentine's Day. Reservations are still available.

Wine and Chocolate Pairing at Katherine Anne Confections

Yup, we already mentioned this, but it's such a cool idea we're bringing it up again. For just $70 per person, you can get 16 different sweets and 8 different wines, plus charcuterie from Danke. The party is on Feb. 12, and I cant imagine a better gift for a chocolate lover. Buy tickets here.

Go Nuts At Milk Room

If your sweetie is a spirits lover, I have the perfect Valentine's Day for you. Milk Room, which I think is the best bar in Chicago, is running an epic special that night. For $150 a person, which is admittedly pretty intense, you get a fancy glass of champagne, oysters, charcuterie, two cocktails designed specially for that night (which include 17-year old rum, 1950s maraschino and 1970s Campari) and a nightcap of hot chocolate spiked with 70s vintage Fernet Branca. Tickets are still available.

Do Breakfast Instead at Ada Street

This idea is so wacky, it might just be fun. Ada Street is hosting a "Breakfast in Bed" dinner, which encourages guests to stay in bed and get romantic all day before coming to Ada for a dinner comprised of all breakfast-inspired dishes. Menu items include smoked salmon, fried chicken and waffles, apple fritters and more. The four-course meal is $65 and tickets are still available.

Get a First Taste of Temporis

Temporis, which hasn't even been open a month, is an intimate 20-seat tasting restaurant in Noble Square. It's gotten a lot of early attention, but it's too early even for the critics to have visited yet. Which means you'll be giving your sweetie a unique foodie experience that could be remembered as the first dinner at the next big thing! They are offering a 10 course tasting menu for $110, and seats are still available.
