Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and there are just so many darn options. Hundreds of restaurants are running specials, some places have booked up months in advance and prix fixe meals jack up the price of dinner. What's a person to do?

Well, I'm here to help. While most of the "romantic" restaurants in Chicago are already booked solid, I went through all of the hundreds and hundreds of restaurants that still have availability on Valentine's Day and picked out 15 that I can recommend. These restaurants have reliably great food, a calm and lovely atmosphere, and, best of all, you can get in. No one needs to know you waited this long to book.

A few caveats: These are only restaurants that use OpenTable, which doesn't include everyone. I searched for a reservation for 2 people around 6:00 p.m. on Valentine's Day, so if you're determined to eat way later, things might already be booked. Also, be sure to call the restaurant if you're concerned that they might have a special V-Day dinner—sometimes you can't opt out of it.
