Do they even play baseball at Wrigley Field any more, or do they just fit games between concerts at this point?
Lady Gaga's Super Bowl halftime show last night played it surprisingly safe, but now that we've learned it was planned in conjunction with a full tour announcement and a new album to come out sometime this year, we understand why. Gaga can't afford to alienate possible customers, and the Super Bowl was the perfect venue to reframe her as a capital "E" entertainer and not necessarily the place to push her abilities as an artist and provocateur.
Gaga's Joanne Tour goes on sale Feb. 13, and her Chicago stop will be at Wrigley Field on Aug. 25. Of course, that takes her out of the running as a possible Lollapalooza headliner. Fan pre-sale tickets (register at her website and you'll have access to them once you make a purchase through the site) go on sale between Feb. 8 and 10.
UPDATE: As of Feb. 13 the show has sold out.
