Watch Chance The Rapper Serenade With Puppets In 'Same Drugs' Video
By Stephen Gossett in Arts & Entertainment on Feb 6, 2017 10:44PM
Chance the Rapper had his Children’s Television Workshop aesthetic in full blossom at last year's Magnificent Coloring Day festival, and it looks like he's carrying on that puppet-accompaniment streak further with his just-released "Same Drugs."
One of the many highlights on Chance's Best Of-dominating Coloring Book mixtape, the nostalgic "Same Drugs" is cast in an appropriately pensive mood, even as the Jake Schreier-directed clip is splashed with lots of eye-popping color and Chance's felt friends. The clip arrives less than a week out from the Grammys, where Chance is up for seven awards and is scheduled to perform. We'll have to wait and see if his fuzzy posse makes an appearance at the music-biz ceremony, on Sunday, Feb. 12, as well.
Before "Same Drugs" was uploaded to YouTube, Chance debuted the video on Facebook Live, a tricky process he described in the clip below.
