A 10,000 square-foot, landmark greystone mansion in historic Bronzeville is on the market for $1.3 million.

The home is three stories, with an additional, 2,400 square foot coach house. It features a Georgian marble exterior, interior elements with hand-carved oak, a carriage side-drive, a 1500 square-foo ballroom, a chef's kitchen, 27 rooms and five bathrooms. It's an historic landmark site, according to realtors.

The home is known as the Swift Mansion because it was built in 1893 as a wedding gift for the daughter of the famous Chicago meatpacker Gustavus Swift, according to Crain's. It is currently owned by a non-profit social services organization. The realtor is recommending the property to buyers looking to build on or restore it.

According to the Glessner House Museum blog, the the mansion is a "rare survivor" of an era when Chicago's business leaders flocked to Grand Boulevard and nearby Near South Side neighborhoods, and the home features elements of Romanesque and Queen Anne architecture styles, including stone columns, wood paneling and an impressive three-story turret.

The house is located at 4500 S. Michigan Ave. and is being listed for sale on Estately.
