A man was found dead Monday morning after a standoff with authorities at a Little Village home, according to officials.

Police first received a call reporting a domestic disturbance at a building in the 3400 block of West 23rd Street around 7:45 a.m. The police response resulted in a five hour standoff outside the home, according to the Tribune.

Police found a 68-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound to the head inside the residence, and took into custody a 37-year-old man who lives at that address. Police said in a news release that they recovered a weapon from the scene, and that an investigation is ongoing.

Neighbors told the Tribune that the men were father and son.
