The CTA Blue Line temporarily halted some train service around noon Wednesday after an unknown man jumped in front of an oncoming train at the Addison Station.
The 28-year-old man was standing on the train platform when the train approached at about 11:523 a.m., and he jumped onto the tracks in the path of the train, according to police. The man was pronounced dead on the scene, and Area North detectives are investigating what exactly happened.
Trains have been temporarily stopped in both directions, with the CTA offering shuttle bus service in several directions.
