As if the political climate in Illinois didn’t already make it challenge enough to stay upright, on Wednesday the actual climate is literally making it difficult to keep our balance.

The National Weather Service of Chicago has issued a wind advisory for the Chicago area and portions of Northwest Indiana. The advisory runs from 9 a.m. through 6 p.m. And if you've been outside at all today, you know this is is no false prophecy.

Winds will likely sustain between 25 and 35 mph throughout the day, and scattered gusts could reach as high as 55 mph, according to NWS-Chicago.

The strong winds were so potent on Wednesday, in fact, that the Skydeck at Willis Tower closed.

The gusty weather prompted The Signature Room and The Signature Lounge, located atop the John Hancock Center, to close on Wednesday as well.

Yesterday's forceful winds tore off a portion of the roof at Benito Juarez Community Academy in Pilsen and left thousands without electricity. Be safe out there.
